Pieces are by the reactive effect of chemical materials. Ceramic salts are trapped into molten glass and the heated salts release a gas that provides enough pressure to blow a bubble. The resulting form is a spherical object with geological formations in the interior. The shell wall is fumed with carbon to make a smokey metallic surface or fumed with salt to create a clear sparkling effect.
